Participant Guidelines

1. All entry registration forms including preliminary descriptions of your float must be received by
    Friday November 2, 2007.

2. No entry may include a live Santa Claus. Santa will be featured on his own float and will be the last entry in the parade.

3. All entries must be lit for evening viewing using white and /or coloured lights. A minimum of 100 lights per foot is 
      recommended, more is preferred.

4. All floats are encouraged to have taped or live (amplified) music. The selections must be Christmas related music.

5. All entries must be self-propelled, motor vehicle pulled or horse-drawn. Tow -vehicles must be lit and incorporated into 
     the overall theme and design of the entry. All trailers must be skirted. Walking units, carriages etc. must also be lit.

6. Nothing may be tossed from, handed from or otherwise distributed from the floats along the route.

7. Company logo props cannot be the main focus or theme of the float. However, the entry sponsors name should be 
     prominently displayed on the sides of the unit. No advertising slogans or other "commercial" words or items will be 
       
     allowed.

8. Entries must have a theme or title. Live characters, animated decorations, and /or twinkling, moving or other action-type 
     lights should be used to carry out the theme.  

9. There will be prizes awarded in the following categories:
     
                 Best Overall Design ( $ 250)
 
           Most Unique Overall Design ($ 250)
         Best Use of a Traditional Theme. ($ 250)

The above guidelines are not designed to be restrictive but to ensure that the parade is successful in its inaugural year.
The parade committee reserves the right to deny entry to any participant not abiding by the set rules and guidelines.
